MacOS app

I have been using the one sec safari extension and it has been great. However, I think it would be more useful if there is an app similar to how it is on the iPhone that can manage more details. So that there can be strict blocks, app and website time limits and blocks. So that basically all the features on the iPhone app are available on a MacOS app that.

Hey, thanks a lot for the feedback! Are you looking for more customization settings in the macOS Safari extension, or for a native Mac app to intervene / block apps installed on your Mac?

Hi! I would say a bit of both. I would greatly benefit from the same customization that we have for the apps on the phone, such as interventions/ intention setting, etc. But also having a native Mac app that provides the option to set time limits for websites (such as YouTube/Instagram), or even block them completely. Similarly, to be able to time limit or block apps on the Mac in general. I like using the strict block on my phone when I like to do certain things like study/work and allow an app or 2 only to work during that time, and I feel like having that same option on the Mac would be brilliant!

I’d love to see this. Right now the browser extension only solves a part of the problem for me since I also get distracted by playing games on my windows computer.

    not effective in mac/laptops

one sec is effective and has many features in iphone. but in a mac, its useless and has no features. it doesnt block porn, nor has other customizing features to block out unnecessary stuff from chrome or safari on mac

Why the radical difference between iOS and macOS?

I love love love the iOS app. However, I’m currently glad I did a trial Pro subscription because VERY few of the options available on iOS are available on macOS. A number of other apps, such as App Crypt are able to access the screentime on both iOS and macOS. Is it possible to do this here? I don’t want to go with App Crypt, but it might be the most cost effective option. :(

Hey, we’re working on a BIG update for the macOS app!

Would you mind sharing the features you’re looking forward to most? Then we can prioritize them for the Mac app!

My priorities would be blocking other apps (see my other comment) and alternative interventions like follow-the-dot. I don’t find the breathing exercises very useful because I don’t actually have to engage in anything.

The capability to block certain categories for certain time.

I would actually recommend that one sec use automation (the ability for one app to control another app) instead of screen time to block apps on Macs, a route that most other focus apps do for macOS. It is more reliable and harder to work around.
