Override Scheduled Blocks with Focus Filter

It would be cool if we could somehow override the Blocks, Strict or not, from specific focus filters.

For example, if I have a scheduled block to block all except exempted apps from 12 AM to 5 PM, but let’s say I go to the gym within that time or am at work in those hours & I have a focus filter set to change at these locations… I would like to be able to access something I typically have blocked during this schedule, such as YouTube in case I want to see a quick video on an exercise’s technique, or if I’m at work & want to look something up for a colleague on my phone, etc…

Alternatively, it would also be awesome to set these scheduled blocks on a per-location basis… so if I am at home, I want to block all because this is where I waste time on my phone. If I am outside the house at all, I’d like to keep my phone unlocked for the reasons above but also because I am not going to waste time on these things if I am outside or at work or at the gym or at a restaurant or party or etc.

    Hi @Justin McCallum

    thanks for your request!

Did you see this post – https://feedback.one-sec.app/p/geo-blocking

    – it does what you were alternatively proposing!

Also I edited the platforms to iOS and MacOS, since Focus Filters are integrations to Apple’s ecosystems.

    Here to help

This is similar, but doing it through focus filters requires you to manually set up each individual app that you want blocked.

It is also very easy to bypass by just switching focus.

Having this work with one sec’s scheduled block feature would allow you to not be able to bypass by setting it to strict block, and it wouldn’t require you to individually set up and edit all the shortcuts and automation for every single app on your phone. You could use Block All and exempt individual apps instead.
