Strong Protection Against Extension Removal

Feature Request🌐 Browser Extension

Right now, it is easy to bypass restrictions by simply disabling or uninstalling the browser extension. This defeats the purpose during moments of low willpower.

If someone tries to remove or disable the extension, there should be a long and deliberate intervention, similar to the protection used for shortcuts in the mobile app. Making removal difficult ensures users stay committed to their goals.

I’d also like to ask politely whether these stricter protection features are being considered for future updates, as they would greatly benefit users who rely on One Sec for serious habit control.

    loved this suggestion. I’d like to add that I’ve been using OneSec’s extension and when my willpower fails me, I just remove the app from the dashboard and use it freely. I wish it had more protection around this, especially if it’s in “block schedule” — it could be similar to the feature on iOS that prevents the user from uninstalling OneSec if it’s in “block schedule”.

    Hi there,

    up to now it seems to be technically not feasible to lock extensions (imagine what a malicious extension that you can’t disable could do in your browser), but an approach we are investigating right now is add a lock or control via an desktop app. We are exploring this right now for Mac!

    Block the function to disable Safari extension on MacOS

    Hi,

    Would it be possible to block the button to disable Safari extension on MacOS. Right now, when my dopamine-addicted monkey brain really wants that distraction, it automatically goes to ‘Safari extensions > uncheck one sec’ to allow the websites (albeit temporarily).

    Would it be possible to block this check/uncheck button just like you added the feature to block uninstalling on iOS?

    Cheat Lock for Browser: Block turning the whole extension off?

    An easy bypass in browser is to just turn off the extension as a whole. Is there a way to at least add some friction or even managing to block it completely?

      Intervention for one sec settings on browser

      I find the intervention for the one sec settings on my phone really helpful, but what ends up happening on my laptop is that I just go in and turn off the intervention rather than going through it, because there’s really nothing stopping me.
