Zufälliger App-Block (Probability Block)

🇩🇪🇩🇪

I would find a feature exciting that completely blocks access to a selected app (e.g., Instagram) with a configurable probability.

For example:

– Selectable block probability (1/2, 1/5, 1/10, 1/20, etc.)

– Alternatively, a "dice mode": if a certain number is rolled (e.g., a 1), the app is blocked for a defined period of time

– Block duration freely configurable (e.g., 10, 30, or 60 minutes)

The appeal lies in the unpredictability: when you open the app, you don't know whether you'll get access. This breaks habits without permanently blocking the app and promotes more conscious consumption instead of pure restriction. It avoids the knowledge that "my blocking schedule ends in 3 minutes, then I can scroll again right away."

🇺🇸🇺🇸

I'd love to see a feature where access to a selected app (e.g., Instagram) is fully blocked based on a configurable probability.

For example:

– Selectable block probability (1/2, 1/5, 1/10, 1/20, etc.)

– Alternatively, a "dice mode": if a specific number is rolled (e.g., a 1), access is denied

– Block duration freely configurable (e.g. 10, 30, or 60 minutes)

The key value is unpredictability. Not knowing whether the app will open helps disrupt habitual behavior without enforcing a permanent hard block, encouraging more mindful usage instead of pure restriction.

You can no longer think like

"My blocking schedule ends in 3 minutes — I'll be able to start scrolling again right away."
