Wider Re-Intervention Options?
Both on Android and desktop, max re-intervention can only go as low as 15 minutes. This doesn’t feel annoying enough, and given how I’m usually gonna choose the max anyway, I would love it if the max re-intervention could be set as low as 3 or even 1 minute!
FFox: Custom Time Limit for re-intervention
Allow a custom time limit for re-intervention. Currently there’s a slider to set the re-intervention interval anywhere from 1-15 minutes (or No Limit). Instead of the slider, allow for input of any number of minutes in a text box.
Timer Intervention
When I set a timer to re-intervene, if I close the app it makes me redo the timer and go through the breathe process. It would be nice if the app was fully unlocked while the timer is going on so every time I re-open the app I don’t have to set another timer
Option to not include re-interventions in 'times opened in 24 hours'
…time it does a re-intervention, it counts for the number of times I've opened the app in 24 hours so the number looks huge (like 40 opens in 24 hours) even though a large proportion are the re-interventions. Can there be an option to not count these re-interventions in the total times I've attempted to access the app? It seems counterintuitive that I have the re-intervention timer set low to…
30 second warning before intervention
I would love it if 30 seconds before the intervention starts again, I got a little pop up warning me of time left (or even better, a timer counting down to the intervention). I find the biggest reason I log back in is to finish a reel which is where the cycle starts again.
Use default time for re-intervention without having to scroll the dial
I find the initial intervention helpful, but the dial-scroll to select the time for the session (I.e. 10m) is unnecessary and gets in the way. It would be great if we can set the default max time (10m) and that is used for every session, before re-intervention kicks in. Even better: have the default 10m initially, and the re-intervention would bring back the dial for continued usage.
Intervention timer before accessing target app
It would be very useful to have the intervention forcefully take time(adjustable) instead of being based on physical action because my dopamine brain has already learned the fastest way to clear the intervention without thinking. The forced wait would make me wake up and think about if I really want to be on this app right now.
Randomize usage time in re-intervention
I’m using the re-intervention tool and realized, that if I allow myself 4 minutes of instagram, just before my time runs out, a reel I’m really interested starts to play and has its peak right after my usage time. I think the algorithm understood that I’ve been leaving the app after an whole-numbered amount of minutes and tries to incentivize me to come back again (which unfortunately happens ever so…
Please Re-Interventions possible for websites!
You can only add Apps to the re-intervention feature, not websites. It would be so useful to be able to add websites to the re-intervention feature too.
Custom / Longer Intervention Timer (e.g. 15 minutes)
I love 1 Sec and the intervention timer is genuinely one of its best features, it creates just enough friction to make me pause before mindlessly opening an app. That said, I’d love to see the timer options extended. Right now the preset options only go up to 2 minutes, which is too short for what I’m trying to do: use that waiting time to read a few pages of…
“Cool down” after a re-intervention
I often find myself doing breathing exercise after exercise. I would love if there was a strict block for like an hour or two until I’m allowed to do another breathing exercise and get back into the app. That would help me be productive while I wait out the timer! What do you guys think?
Visual Countdown Timer
A visual timer like a slim reverse progress bar at the top or bottom of the screen. This would ideally not block anything of the app in use, but still be a visual cue in the corner of our eye to see how much of use time is left before the next intervention. This way the brain can pre-adjust instead of being hit with an intervention in the middle of…
Make re-checks incrementally longer
To make it harder and harder to keep extending your time on an app after re-checking in, the delay to re-open the app should get incrementally longer (or at least make it an option to do so). For instance, the first re-check takes 10s, then the next one is 20s, next one is 40s, next one is 80s, and so on…
Bring Delayed Interventions to Android
https://tutorials.one-sec.app/en/articles/3974530 Original Title: Deactivate breathing exercise altogether to use only re-intervention I do not have a problem with unintentional app opening or switching, rather I mainly want to use the re-intervention to have a stopping cue. It’s so annoying when I want to show somebody something on an app and I always have to go through the breathing exercise (which even in its shortest duration is too long for me),…
Elapsed Intervention Time Display to Mitigate Sunk Cost Bias
Summary: Display cumulative elapsed time during interventions to encourage a "cut-the-losses" mindset. Problem: Users experience the sunk cost fallacy while waiting through long intervention screens, feeling that time already spent justifies waiting until the end rather than abandoning the app open entirely. Proposed Solution: Add a live timer indicating how much time has already been spent inside the active intervention screen. Framing the metric as time lost/spent encourages a stop-loss…
Add an option for "session length" enforcement (inspired by Hacker News)
…this: The first time you visit the site, it starts a timer. The duration of this timer is configurable (the setting is called “maxvisit”). You’re allowed to use the site unrestricted until this timer is up. The timer keeps ticking even when you’re not using the site. After that hour is up, it locks you out of the site and starts another timer. The duration of this timer is also…
Customize Intentional App/Website Switching on a per app basis
Currently, there is only the option to set the intentional app switching timer for all apps. But it would be great to have different times for different apps as some apps it’s more ok to avoid new re-interventions when switching back to the app after longer periods of time and some apps I want shorter intervals
Delayed Intervention for Browser Extension
Some websites like youtube and reddit are great when doing research but they can waste your time if you linger too long. It would be nice to have a feature where you’re allowed to open the website but it prompts an intervention after a set time limit.
Intervention duration depends on time spent on the app
As of right now, I have one sec set up that it intervenes a minute after I‘ve opened my desired app, intervenes and depending on how many times I’ve opened the app in the last 24h, the Intervention‘s duration is increased. Though, one thing I’d love to see is to have the option for the intervention to increase a little bit for every x minutes spent on the app.
