Have something to say?
Daily usage visible during intervention
I love this app, and I feel like it would be even more compelling for me if it showed me how much time I spent on whatever app I’m trying to access over the course of that specific day. Like I would love to log onto Instagram and have it tell me I that I’ve spent 42mins on Instagram already that day during the intervention. Thanks for considering and thanks for doing what you do!
More Granular Block Schedule Time Intervals
I like the strict blocking functionality, but there should be an advanced option where I can define specific time slots for app usage (similar to the Cold Turkey app on Mac). For example, I’d like to be able to check social media for 5 minutes every hour, but currently, it only allows me to unlock a full hour.
Structured Integration <> Block Sessions
If i have an active task on Structured, one sec should be able to block all apps, not only the ones I have a Shortcuts automation for, like it is working right now. This could maybe be done by integrating the Block Sessions feature or starting a Focus mode for a “softer blocking”-approach: Structured activates a focus in which the apps are already selected to be blocked. We could use the Structured Color-Coding for different Focuses. The idea is to make the process less complicated to and work intensive to set up.
X Minutes Left Notification
I’m proposing another option to the ‘don’t get lost’ notification setting, to allow a notification X minutes before the app will be blocked (aka before intervention or whatever else). This could be nice as a ‘You have X minutes left in APP, wrap things up!’
Intervention on extension pages
One sec should also be used in the intervention on other chrome extension pages such as website blocker. Tis add friction on considering to turn off any website blocker.
Easier way to move time wheel on re-intervention ui
I find it very frustrating to set a time in the re-intervention UI, because i have to perfectly slide my finger on the circle given. If i slightly miss it, the selection cancels. Im on android btw so idk if thats the same problem with IOS. Maybe invent a tap mode so you can tap on the circle where the selection should be in the end. Thanks :) If you dont know what i meant, heres a picture
Android: Snapchat "Discover" added as an option fore the "Remove In-App Distractions" feature
I love this app - thank you for making/ maintaining it. I’m absolutely a pro subscriber. I love the new “Remove In-App Distractions”, but would really love if Snapchat’s “Discover” page could also be an option (not just “Spotlight”). I hate this page, and usually accidently scrolling over and getting sucked into whatever garbage is being promoted over there for like 10 minutes whenever I catch up with friends.
MacOS app features are different to the browser extension which can be confusing
Hi! So I’ve noticed that some things are different on the app and website - and as I am using some websites as Chrome apps saved to my Mac dock, the browser extension doesn’t always work as it thinks the website is an app when I am using it in full screen. Therefore, I am choosing to use the Mac app and add the Chrome apps as apps, which is fine. However, some features are missing from the app, which are available on the browser extension and are quite straightforward. On the browser extension, the exercise duration is: Quick - 3 sec Medium - 6 sec Regular - 10 sec Long - 20 sec Extreme - 40 sec Ultra - 60 sec However, on the app, it looks like this: There is a bug where the Maximum Re-Interruption Time Interval on the app does not let me click “No Limit“. If I click that option, it automatically changes it back to 30 minutes. I can select every option except the “No Limit“, so not sure why this is happening. It would also be amazing if we could choose 1 hour, 2 hours, or 3 hours, too. Because if I am watching a movie with a friend, I’d like to open it for 1/2/3 hours, then have it interrupt instead of having to pick between 45 mins or no limit at all. On the browser extension, in the Intervention Options section, there is a choice to close the tab on intervention exit. It would be great if there were an option to close an app on intervention exit, too. Also, the browser extension lets you keep the Intentional website switching box empty, essentially disabling that feature and allowing you to leave the website as many times as you want. On the app however, there is no option to disable this, and I am forced to pick a duration with 5 mins being the longest - on the browser extension, it’s 10 mins. It would be great if the options matched between the browser extension and the app, but also if there is an option to just not select intentional app switching if not wanted.
Let notifications still come through while active block
If you have an ongoing block, your notifications for a blocked app will also be blocked. Users should be able to choose if they still want to get notifications of blocked apps. How a user put it: “I sometimes feel the urge to open the app anyway just to check if I might be missing something important. That small doubt ends up pulling me back in more than I’d like. It would really help if there were a way to still receive notifications while the app stays blocked. That way I could stay aware of anything important without needing to open the app just to check.”
Set end time for Blocks
Hi! I’d love an option to set an end time manually for a block instead of setting a length of time it’ll be active for. For example, setting a block “until 11am” instead of “for 2 hours 58 minutes”. I know the Schedule does something similar but it’d be nice on the manual setting as well. Thanks!
Configure the random text intervention (length of string)
A simple input that lets me enter the length would be great.
[Browser Extension] Adjustable Durations of Intervention
On mobile it can be up to 120 seconds, on web its only 60 seconds. Please, my brain takes longer than 60 seconds to turn on :)
Don’t Get Lost Notification Coming When Not Needed
Note: My “Don’t Get Lost” Reminder notifications come at the 3 minutes interval. Sometimes, when I set a 3 minute time to use an app with one sec, right when my 3 minutes end, I get the “You need an intervention” screen AND a “Don’t Get Lost” notification at the same time, and I feel like this is a bug because you are already being taken off of the app, and the notification should not come. Let me know if you need clarification.
Dynamic Island Timer - show remaining time
The feature of having a timer in the Dynamic Island, showing how much time you use the app for, is great, but I think it needs improvement: Feature Request: Be able to choose if Timer shows time left or time I've spent Right now it counts how much time you’ve spent on the app. I think it would be better if it showed remaining time for using the app (based on how much time user chose to spend on the app) - clearly indicating how much time you have left based on what you chose, instead of having to remember how much time you chose and then mentally calculating “time left” = “time I chose” - “time I’ve spent“. This is small and subtle difference, but I think it might be a bit more convenient. Or maybe add an option for the user to choose what to show - time remaining or time spent. Bug: Dynamic Island Feature <> Intentional App Switching – Timer disappears after switching This Dynamic Island feature doesn’t work well with Intentional App Switching. Let’s say I chose to spend 10 mins on YouTube, went there - timer started in the Dynamic Island. I then switched to another app briefly (app closing was logged) and timer disappeared. I opened the YouTube again (during the Intentional App Switching period), but the timer doesn’t re-appear, continue or start over. I think, the most expected behavior would be for timer to continue running for the time period that was chosen to spend in the app (if you consider the 1 suggestion, then it would be expected to have this timer counting down 10 minutes since I chose to spend this much time on YouTube) and stopping only when this chosen time period or if the app was closed for the time longer, than Intentional App Switching period. iPhone 17, iOS 26.4, one sec version 5.2.1 build 1333.
Randomise appearance and mechanism for setting intervention time
I absolutely love this app for taking a second to reflect before opening a blocked app, however after a few months my brain has gotten so used to how it works that without thinking I will: Open a blocked app Check notifications while I'm waiting for the timer Move the wheel to the maximum time Open the app It would be nice to have the mechanism to set the maximum time before re-intervention change each time, so that it forces my brain to think a bit more to provide more of an obstacle to opening apps
2nd monitor issue
I found the issue, that if I opend e.g. youtube on one of my monitors, klick onto the other monitor, i get another intevention as soon as i click back into youtube. Thats kinda annoying if actively decided to use a website i might normally block. Would be cool to disable this reoccuring intervention every time i tab back in.
let there be an option to have no dock icon
since it lives in the background and/or menu bar, i’d like to be able to not have the icon in the dock, I don’t need to have it and it clutters things.
Block from toggling off uninstalling when on a block schedule
It would be good if we couldn’t toggle off the uninstalling option when an app is blocked.
