The Adult Content Detox feature is designed to help you create a healthier relationship with your device by blocking adult content across all web browsers and web views on your iPhone or iPad. You can even lock yourself out of changing these settings for a set period to ensure long-term discipline.

1. How to enable Adult Content Detox

  1. Open the one sec app.

  2. Go to Settings and select Adult Content Detox.

  3. Enable the main toggle.

  4. Grant permissions to access Screen Time (you will be asked to authenticate via FaceID, TouchID, or your Passcode).

2. Optional: Locking your Settings

For extra discipline, you can lock the settings so they cannot be disabled on a whim. You can choose to lock the feature for:

  • 10 days

  • One month

  • Forever

3. How it works & Privacy

Unlike many other blockers, one sec works on a system-level. Instead of a simple browser extension that only works in one app, it adds a content filter to all Web Views. This means it works across all browsers, including:

  • Safari

  • Google Chrome

  • Mozilla Firefox

  • DuckDuckGo Browser

🔒 Privacy First: Your data remains 100% private. one sec does not know which websites you visit or what content you are looking at. The filtering happens entirely on your device.

4. Side-Effects: Safari Extensions & Private Browsing

Please be aware that enabling this feature currently has an (unexpected) side-effect due to how iOS handles content filters. When Adult Content Detox is active:

  • Private Browsing in Safari is disabled.

  • Editing Safari Extensions is restricted.

We have already reached out to Apple to request more granular settings so that these features can remain active while the blocker is on.

5. Reporting Issues

  • URL is blocked that shouldn’t be? If a website is falsely blocked by the filter, please report it so we can improve the list. 👉 Report a falsely blocked URL here

  • Adult content is not being blocked? We rely on a list of servers provided by Apple. While it covers most popular sites, some rare cases might slip through. Please report these so we can forward the feedback to Apple. 👉 Report unblocked adult content here
